Hey you, yes, I am talking to you

Standing in front of the mirror today I declared ‘You are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator and he loves you just the way you are. All your strengths and weaknesses. All your successes and failures. All your highs and lows. All your joy and sadness and in all your goodness and sin. He loves you, so love you too.’

The Cherokee native Indians say ‘When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.’

The Dalai Lama said ‘Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.’

When I look into all beliefs and religions across the world, from the ancient civilisations to today I see a heart that cries to give and to receive love; to live alongside nature and each other with respect and in peace.

There is a dawning of realisation that I am restrained under an umbrella of judgement and condemnation. Prejudice weaves a web of lies and distortion and only seeks to harm and destroy. My soul, my spirit, my inner being is battered and tortured with the weight of how I think the world looks at me. I forget how my Creator sees me and loves me. Many live under that same umbrella, separated from all that we could be, if only we could see ourselves as our Father sees us. When I look at my children my heart loves them unconditionally, flaws and all. I want them to have the very best of the best. I yearn for their dreams to come true, for them to be happy and live with joy in their hearts, not insecure with doubt or confusion, not to feel inadequate or unworthy, but to know that they are precious, they are beautiful, they are capable and strong. If I want that for my children, how much more does our Creator want that for me, how much more does he want that for you.

Darkness and evil would cover me with despair, self-loathing, hopelessness and rejection to name but a few of there negative traits. It seeks to keep me apart, isolated and bereft. I constantly live in its shadow, its claws waiting to spring and pull me down to the depths. I see in history that some struggle and think power will free them from this tyranny. Greed, pride and arrogance rise up and give a false sense of achievement and success. The drive to keep what they have, when nothing they have is there’s really, everything is temporary and in the fear of losing, everything is lost.

There is only one sure thing in this world, we live and then we die. What we do in between is our own responsibility. Today as I look in the mirror I choose to be a precious, loved child of God. I take off the dark robe of despair and I put on the light robe of hope. In that I choose to give my love to others, to let them know that they are loved and accepted for who they are, for how they were created. I choose to celebrate all our differences. I will endeavour not to judge or condemn and quickly ask for forgiveness if I fail. I will pray and compassionately yearn that each and everyone of us fulfils our potential that we will know love, peace and harmony; hope and joy in our lives. Success is not to have, but to give.

I will shout of the love the Creator has for us from the rooftops. I pray for the chains of despair to be broken, for the restraints of judgement and condemnation to be obliterated from our lives that we maybe set free from all prejudice and darkness.

In many ancient writings there was a golden age of man, when we were one with our Creator, with nature and with each other and they all talk of a return of that time. Our time of separation is coming to an end, we will be united again. We all have different names for it, for the Buddhist its the state of Nirvana, free from all mind-contaminants to have great inner peace and contentment. In Hinduism its Moksha that final release from one’s worldly conception. I long to understand our differences and to love them.

From White Buffalo Calf Woman….

Friend do it this way, that is, whatever you do in life, do the very best you can with both heart and mind. And if you do it that way the Power of The Universe will come to your assistance, if your heart and mind are in Unity. When one sits in the Hoop of the People, one must be responsible because all of creation is related. And the hurt of one is the hurt of all. And the honour of one is the honour of all. And whatever we do effects everything in the universe. If you do it that way, that is, if you truly join your heart and mind as One, whatever you ask for, that’s the way it’s going to be.

I pray for unity, peace and contentment, love, joy and harmony for all.

God bless
